Altered Clothespins

It‘s Monday and there is a new challenge on the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog. This week the challenge is: “Anything Goes“.

I love altering things and I’m always looking for new things to transform. I used to store my ribbon wrapped around clothespins. I have a lot of ribbon and that storage method was not working for me anymore. I sorted all my ribbon by color and put it in baggies. That left me with a lot of clothes pins. I decided to stamp on them and I love the way they turned out!

Pillow Box

I have a Design Team project up on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog today.

I love pillow boxes! They are such a quick and easy way to wrap a small gift or gift card … the possibilities are endless. I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #916 to create the border on my wrap around piece on the pillow box. I raided my stash for the embellishments and came up with a cute gift card holder for a friends birthday.

Table Runner & Gift Box

I have 2 projects to share today.
First I have a design team project up on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog.

I think I have found a new favorite crafting supply!

It’s a shame to get rid of old books. Why not be creative and use them for craft projects. You can find old books at library sales, rummage sales, auctions and used book stores.
I made this table runner by taping old book pages together and then punching the edges with the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch # 905

Second I have a challenge up for the December Mini Crop at Turtle Soup.
I made a Christmas gift box.  My challenge to you is to create a gift box or bag.  Be sure to check out all the inspiring challenges by the other Design Team members.

Altered Book

It‘s Monday and there is a new challenge on the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog. This week the challenge is: “Christmas Colors”.

I love altering things and books are my favorite!  I made this for my daughter.  I attached the photo to a piece of twine using clothespins.  This way she will be able the change the photo every year.

Gift Card Holder

If you’re giving a gift card as a present why not give it a “homemade feel” and make the card holder. I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #304 to create the fancy edge on the top of the little bag. I then folded it over and added some Christmas stickers from SRM. I finished the bag by adding a twine bow. These will be perfect for the Starbucks gift cards.

Count Down Till Christmas

It's Friday and I have a project up on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog.
A paper chain is a great way to help children count down the days until a special occasion or a holiday. And who says the paper chain has to be plain!? I made this paper chain for my grandchildren to count down the days till Christmas. I cut 25 paper strips from cardstock measuring 2” X 12”. I punched both side of the strips with the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #910, giving the strips an elegant look.  I alternated the red and green strips and linked the strips together by stapling them.

Today I have two projects to share with you.

First a Design Team project for the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog.
The theme is “start of winter” To create this tag I used my Cricut and the Winter Woodland cartridge. Believe it or not this project is made with scraps left over from other projects. The music paper is probably 2 years old and from Melissa Frances, the pearls are from JoAnn’s and I have had them at least 2 years and the flower I cut off of an old shirt. I distressed the edges of the skates and the tag and then inked them with Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Spun Sugar. I heat embossed the blades of the skates with Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Ink and silver Ultra Detail Embossing Powder. I LOVE this vintage look!

Second a Design Team project for the Design Team Layout Sketch Reveal at Turtle Soup.
Love this sketch and my finished project! I cut the circles using my Cricut and the Accent Essentials cartridge. After cutting out the circles I stained them with Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Stains. I then accented them with a gold Adirondaok Acrylic Paint Dabber.

That Way

It’s Friday and I have a Design Team project up on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog.

For this layout I used some of my stash of scraps … all those bits and pieces left over from other layouts and cards. I punched a border strip using the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #311. The punched border strip just adds that little something extra to the layout.

Treat Bag

This week the challenge at Kaboodle Doodles is “ Buttons & Twine”.

I don’t know how many times I have needed to wrap a gift only to find I was out of paper and/or tape. I’ve discovered that you can take a plain, ordinary, brown paper lunch bag and turn it into cuteness. I punched the top edge of the bag with the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #312 and then added a tag, a button and some twine. What a cute Christmas treat bag this turned out to be!

Oh how I love the Kreaxions Circle Cutter … the possibilities are endless!

I cut the circles on the 12X12 patterned paper and then backed them with scraps left over from other projects. I went through my stash and pulled out all my pink embellishments … and viola …a very girly layout.

Snowman Card

Do you have a favorite scrapbooking tool, one you love and that you find yourself using over and over again. I do and it’s the Circle Cutter from Kreaxions. I’ve tried a LOT of circle cutters and this one is by far the easiest to use!

I created this cute snowman card using my favorite tool and my stash of cardstock scraps.

Crash Your Stash Challenge

I have the Wednesday Crash Your Stash Challenge at Turtle Soup today.
What scrapbooker or card maker doesn’t have piles of cardstock left over from projects? Yes … we all do!

My challenge to you is to create a project using up your stash of left over cardstock. No patterned paper allowed. You can use embellishments on your project if you like.

You have the option of completing either a Layout, Card, Tag, ATC or altered project.

I made a card and punched strips of cardstock creating scalloped edges.

Lovely

There is a Design Team Reveal up on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog today and the theme is “family”.

I completed this layout using a photo of Randy’s mom LaVerne and our daughter Jessica’s six sweet children. I don’t think LaVerne will be making any more trips to Florida with us and not knowing when Jessica and Aaron will be making a trip home again … well these memories are priceless!
I punched the border strip with the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #304. I used the circle cutter to cut 1 ½” circles to make a scalloped edge.

Merry Christmas

I can’t believe it’s November! That means I need to get my Christmas cards in the mail by the end of the month. For this card I used the Kreaxions Star Template, and the Kreaxions 4 in one punch #312 with the “A” insert. I used the Kreaxions Circle Cutter (best circle cutter I have ever used) to create the green circle for the backdrop. I distressed all the edges and added the Merry Christmas SRM sticker to complete the card.

This is my take on the card.

Photo Op

Today I have a project up on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog. Randy and Jessica both said that this is their new favorite page of Gracelynn. I created a border for the top and the bottom of the page using the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch # 903.  I love that this punch looks like eyelet lace.  I used the positive part of the punched border on the top of the layout and the negative section for the bottom of the layout.

I purchased this hair bow from Sugar Sweet Boutique shortly after Gracelynn was born. I thought she would wear it for her first birthday. Although Jessica did a photo shoot with Gracelynn wearing the “BIG” bow … I think it is something she will have to grow into lol!

Treat Jars

It‘s Monday and time for another challenge on the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog. This week the challenge is: “Halloween Colors”.

The October teacher gifts for my grandsons teachers were the perfect fit for this challenge.  I made these treat containers out of StarBucks jars.  I filled the jars with Hershey Kisses and a few spiders.  Adding the tag and ribbon were the finishing touches.

Pumpkin & Treat Bags

It’s time for the October Mini Crop at the Scrapping Turtle.

This month the themes are: Fall, Color Your World, Canadian Thanksgiving and Halloween.

Pumpkins add stylish, creative and fun touches to your Halloween/Fall decorating. When I was in JoAnn’s I saw this Kraft paper Mache pumpkin and I swear it was calling my name. My first thought was all that washi tape that’s in my stash (that I always forget to use).

So my challenge to you is to use tape on a Halloween or fall project. Any kind of tape, washi, paper, masking, duct tape … anything goes.

Be sure to check out all the challenges from the Design Team for the October Mini Crop at Turtle Soup!

I also have a project up on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog today - Halloween treat bags.
The October Afternoon Witch Hazel paper along with the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #301 is the perfect combination.  I distressed the edges of the paper to get the vintage feel I was going for.

Scrapbooking for 5 grandsons is great but having a granddaughter has given me the opportunity to do some girly girl pages … and I love it!

For Gracelynn’s layout “Princess In Training” I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch # 903 to create a border on the large photo mat. I made the banner out of paint sample cards. I punched them using the #903 punch also. I’m always amazed at how many different looks you can get using the same punch in different ways.

First a layout I completed for the October Design Team Sketch Reveal at Scrapping Turtle.

The Sketch

My take on the sketch

And second today’s challenge for Kaboodle Doodles - Pumpkins.

On Pintrest I saw an apple done like this. If you could do an apple … why not a pumpkin!? I love the way this turned out!  And to think it only took an old book, some spray paint, a twig and some ribbon.

Did you know?
World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.

Come and celebrate World Card Making Day with us at Turtle Soup today.  The Design Team has several challenges posted.

My challenge is to make a “shaped card” - anything but a square. Making different shaped cards is a way to add interest to you creations. So get out those die cutting machines or your templates and have fun creating!

I made a card for Halloween using my Cricut and the Mini Monsters cartridge.

Leave a comment on this blog post and I'll enter your name in a random drawing to win a RAK from me.

Remember the pack of mustaches I bought the grandkids? By the looks of this photo Elisha enjoyed his a lot more than Gracelynn did lol! I only have 5 more mustache layouts to do. One for each of them … hope I don’t run out of ideas!

For this layout I used the Kreaxions Circle Cutter and the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #918.
