Paper Layering … what is it?
Simply put - using coordinating solid and/or patterned
papers and layering them on top of each other to form a foundation for your photo(s).
Paper Layering is one of my favorite techniques. There’s just something about
all that texture, depth and visual interest you create when you layer
paper and/or embellishments on your scrapbooking layouts.
For this layout I created a layered photo mat using leftover paper

scraps from other paper crafting projects. (Gotta love using up those scraps!)
Layering is not as tricky or as hard as it looks. When picking my papers for layering
I let the photo(s) determine which papers I’ll use. Most papers will
