Welcome to the ScrapbookSteals Blog Hop! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of this hop and with so many other crafty ladies!  This month it’s all about Studio Calico Mr. Huey’s Color Mists.

There are always so many techniques and scrapbooking supplies I want to try and experiment with and so little time to do it in. I’m sure you know how that goes?!
When I received my product, the Mr. Huey’s Color Mist I knew I would be setting some time aside to play with it. I can say I love this product!

First I used it to distress the edges of my paper by spraying a small amount of the Mr. Huey's Color Mist in a flat container and running the edges of my paper through the mist. I had some Thickers chipboard shapes that have a glossy finish to them and I wasn’t sure how the Mr. Huey's Color Mist would work on them. But I love the distressed look that it gave it. After spraying the chipboard I just dapped off the excess mist with a paper towel. Then I sprayed some Hug Snug seam binding with the Mr. Huey’s Color Mist to dye it and the color turned out so deep and rich. Ta da! My completed card:

I did this “Super Mom” layout for my daughter. With 5 little boys and a little girl on the way . . . that’s exactly what she is!

For this layout I stained a coffee filter with the Mr. Huey's Color Mist, cut the filter into strips and then sewed them together. I then ran a gathering thread down the center to create the ruffle. I also stained wood buttons with the Mr. Huey's Color Mist by first painting them with an off white paint and then spraying them with the mist.  I  then dapped the excess mist off with a paper towel.

Hope you can join us on the hop! Be sure to stop by each blog and leave a comment (closing on Sunday, August 12th at 11:59 p.m. MST).
A random winner will be picked from one of the eight blog postings to receive a $20.00 gift certificate to ScrapbookSteals.com.
