It’s Monday and time for another challenge from
Kaboodle Doodles.

The challenge this week is to use “Brown and/or Tan”.

 

This little bag is made out of cardstock and embellished with a journaling card, flowers, lace and stick pins. (All odds and ends from my stash.) It will make a wonderful keepsake. I can see little bags like this being used for gift cards or party favors filled with goodies … or a hostess gift. What a cute way to say Thank You!

It’s suppose to be spring here in Ohio … but I think mother nature is playing tricks on us!? We’ve had two nice days this month were it was actually a little warm and sunny and then Saturday it snowed … yes you read that right snowed! I’m beyond ready for nice warm weather! This little “Bee Happy” card makes me think “SPRING”.

It’s Monday and time for another challenge from Kaboodle Doodles.

The challenge this week is “black & white”.

I love Pintrest and have to limit the time that I spend there (or I’d be in trouble). I’m amazed how easily15 minutes can turn into 45 minutes. I set a timer so when my time is over it’s over lol! While I was searching “paper medallions” I saw so many cool ideas. Seeing all that inspiration I thought I could crate something very clever … and so I did. We have redone our bedroom and I wanted something on the wall that would standout and be a focal point. This project was a lot of work! All that cutting, punching, scoring and gluing … but so worth it when it was complete.

 

This project was so hard to get good photos of, but here's the finished project. The medallions are black, white and silver or gray and mounted on a piece of plywood which was then hung on the wall. Here are some close up shots.

I am having so much fun with the Cricut “Sweet Tooth Boxes” cartridge! The possibilities are endless. This cute little cupcake box needs to find a home and I have just the place for it. I think I will surprise a co-worker with it this week as a Random Act of Kindness.

I have a challenge posted this month be sure to check it out here. I have seen so many fun and creative techniques that I want to try on my layouts. My challenge this month is to try something new on a layout. You can find some inspiring ideas from other blogs, scrap booking sites, Pintrest and of course the My Sketch World forums.

For my "Try Something New Layout Challenge" I made my own chevron background.

I created this card using supplies from my enormous stash of left over paper and embellishments from other paper crafting projects.

Just playing a little catch up and posting my February pages for my "Project 12" mini album for the challenge at My Sketch World.

I tried a new technique which included using my Cuttlebug to emboss on foil, using distress stain, alcohol inks and crackle paint and a lot of distressing.  I'll be experimenting with this technique some more.  I love the way this tag turned out!  I was inspired by Tammy Tutterow's work.

 

This month I included photos from our mini vacation to FL along with some journaling.

 

 

 

There were so many great photos from the trip that I put the extra ones

in a little envie on the back page.

 

 

 

　

 

Oh the things you find on Pintrest! When I was at my daughter’s house in February she shared a project with me that one of her friends had seen on Pintrest. I helped my daughter complete the project at her house on her front door windows and I could not believe how cute it turned out.

Needless to say it has been on my to do list ever since. This past weekend I finally got around to doing it.

What you will need.
A variety of colored tissue paper torn into pieces (I’ll admit I’m a little anal so I cut mine into one inch squares).
Washable glue sticks - I used Elmer’s Washable School Glue sticks.
Liquid glue which you can dilute - I used Elmer’s Washable School Glue.

First I cleaned the window with Windex and made sure it was dry.

Since I wanted a pattern I cut out my shapes using my Cricut and the Accent Essentials Cartridge; accent #45 (pg 76).

Next I placed the shape on the window using Herma removable adhesive.

I then used the glue stick on the window to frame my shape.

I removed the shape and rubbed off the residue from the removable adhesive.

I filled in the glued area with the squares of tissue paper.

I started in the middle of the window and worked outwards. (I’m thinking it might have been easier to start on the outside and work in?)

After the window was covered with the tissue paper squares I sealed the tissue paper by painting over it using a mixture of the diluted liquid school glue and a paint brush.

This is not permanent and will come off easily with either Windex or warm soapy water.

 

You can just barely see Marie (that bad cat) sneaking out from under the bed.

 



　

It’s Monday and time for another challenge on the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog. The challenge for this week is Easter/Early Spring. In February we went to FL to visit my daughter and her family. I noticed she had an adorable banner (that she had made at MOPS) hanging in her living room. I thought it would be a great idea for her to have a banner for every holiday or at least every season to hang up. With 6 children this would be no easy task for her to accomplish lol!

  So I made this spring banner for her and shipped it off to FL.
