Use an older Christmas collection

Since I've found my MOJO I decided to participate in some challenges over at Creative Inspiration.  I completed this layout for the 12/5/19 Thursday Stash Challenge; use an older Christmas collection to create your project.  I did a mix and match of old paper collections and embellishments ... I don't even remember who the manufactures are?

Thursday Stash Challenge 7/11

The Thursday Stash Challenge (7/11) is up at Creative Inspiration.
I completed this layout using supplies I found in my stash that I had forgotten  even had.  I used a doily, some felt flowers and some bling in the middle of a flower.

C I June Mini Crop Challenge - Punches

I created this layout for the June Mini Crop Challenge over at Creative Inspiration.  The challenge was to use punches on your project.  I'll confess that I have a LOT of punches and have not used them in a very long time.  This challenge inspired me to get them out.  Be sure to visit the site and be inspired by the design team and the challenges this month.

June Mini Crop Challenge

I have a challenge up at Creative Inspiration for the June Mini Crop.
Layering adds texture and depth to your scrapbooking page without using any special tools or supplies.  Layering paper can help you incorporate new colors and patterns into your pages and designs.  It will direct the eye of your reader towards your focal point.  Layering paper can complement your subject matter and contribute to the overall theme and design of your project.  And as a bonus, it helps you use up all those little paper scraps and bits and bobs that you're hoarding ... I mean saving.  My challenge is for you to create a layout or card and use the layering technique.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.  You have till June 30th to play along.  Be sure to check out the rest of thechallenges.

Creative Inspiration June Sketch Challenge

Hello, my name is Joan and I'm enjoying every minute of retirement with my husband Randy. God and my faith are priorities in my life and I am active in my church. I live in a rural community with our closest neighbor being about a 1/2 mile away. I love spending time at our rural sanctuary, reading on the deck, eating meals outside and spending evenings at our fire pit.  There is nothing like country life.  Being physically fit is important to me (I might be considered a gym rat) and I consider my health one of my greatest treasures.  I enjoy shooting a variety of guns and shooting trap has become a favorite. In the past 30 years I have been on several design teams and enjoyed scrapbooking and paper crafting.  Life keeps you busy, our 3 children, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren are a lot to keep up with.  Since retirement crafting has taken somewhat of a backseat to all the new and fun things I have become involved in.  I'm so excited!   During the month of June I'm a guest designer at Creative Inspiration. Bev has provided us with a fun sketch to work with this month.  Be sure to check out what the other projects from the Design Team.  Hope you can play along with the Sketch Challenge.

Thursday Stash Challenge

Although I have been in my craft room working of craft projects I have not completed a scrapbooking layout in months.  So today I set some time aside and worked on the Thursday Stash Challenge over at Creative Inspiration.

I completed two layouts using up embellishments that have been in my stash for years ... so long that I can't even remember how old they are.

And I will say that it feels good to be working on layouts again.

MIDWEST IS BEST

Our granddaughter Gracelynn is doing some modeling for Motto & Fleur, apparel for mamas & littles.  This shop has the cutest tops and she will custom make one just for you.  Be sure to check it out.
And I just happen to have the perfect paper for this layout.

Track & Field

I'm a one photo on a layout type of girl and I rarely do a two page spread.  But our grandson Isaac (an upcoming track star) deserved  a two page spread with multiple photos.  I incorporated his ribbons and memorabilia.  Go Isaac!

I Love You With All My Heart

The July 1st sketch at Let's Get Sketchy was so easy
to work with that I used it for Noah's 3 month layout too.
And I love that I'm  using up paper scraps and
some bits and pieces from my stash.

Hello Sunshine

The July First sketch is up at Let's Get Sketchy.  I love this sketch for so many reasons. First it was easy to use, second I found I could use up some of those paper scraps from other projects I've been hoarding ... I mean saving, third I love the design.  And fourth it gave me the opportunity to create a cluster of embellishments.

Garden Potting Station

I have no idea why but I LOVE old doors.  There is just something so enchanting about an old chipped up door.  I have so many ideas in my head for cute projects that I could do using old doors.  Well not me exactly ... I have the ideas and Randy can but them together for me.  I'm blessed to have a husband that goes along with my creative schemes.

Randy has a contractor friend who I told if he came across any old doors I would take them off his hands.  He called and said he had a couple of old doors.  At this point Randy said to take just one and we'd see how the project turned out.  This was not my original idea, I saw it on Pinterest.  Taking an old door and turning it into a garden potting station.  This is my take on it.  I love the way it turned out and wish we would have taken both doors.  There's always next time right!?

Be sure to check out Our Hopeful Home one of my favorite blogs right now.  It's filled with so many cute and interesting ideas.
And be sure to visit Vintage Charm and the Wednesday parties ... you'll be inspired!

Family

When I'm scrapping  I would rather spend my time looking for that perfect paper in my stash and concentrating on what embellishments I'm going to use on a layout rather than worrying about designing the layout from scratch.  That's why I like to start my scrappy projects with a good sketch.  What's a good sketch?  For me it's a sketch that appeals to the eye and accommodates the number of photos I'm going to be using. I completed this layout using the June mid-month sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.

Adventure Awaits

This June sketch from My Sketch World was so fun to
work with I used it a second time for these photos of
Faith-Anna and Leah.  Love how many different
looks you can get from one sketch.
