I have enjoyed being a Guest Designer on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog!  This is my last project for August.  I do have some exciting news!  Bev as has me to stay on as a Design Team Member for the rest of the year!  I'm thrilled!  I'll have a new project posted on the blog every Friday so stay tuned :)
After opening a tin can and using the contents you probably either throw the can away or put it in the recycle bin. What about repurposing it? I’m always looking for easy (and cheap) teacher gifts to make. Repurposing soup cans into pencil holders rates right up there as easy and cheap!

I covered these empty soup cans with paper and then used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #916 to punch a border strip for these pencil cans.
I think the punched border added the perfect finishing touch. I’m sure the teachers will put these to good use.

It‘s Monday and time for a challenge on the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog.. This week the challenge is: “say it in a song or quote it”.

To create this card I used my Cricut and the following cartridges; Accent Essentials, Pretty Pennants and Car Decals. I have also horded … I mean collected an abundance of washi tape that I thought I better start using. J

It's Sunday and time for another project featuring on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog.

What teacher wouldn’t want to get this cute little school house filled with goodies?!

I cut the container out using my Cricut and the Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge. This little project turned out to be a lot of work! With all that work going into it I knew it needed a perfect touch to top it off. That’s when I decided to use the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #918 without the insert. The punch makes the ideal fancy scalloped edge which added that extra wow factor to the project.

Now I better get busy because I have 7 of these to make … Oh My!

Be sure to check out the August Mini Crop at Turtle Soup.  I have a fun little challenge posted.

Dictionary.com defines vacation as:

1. a period of suspension of work, study, or other activity, usually used for rest, recreation, or travel; recess or holiday.

2. a part of the year, regularly set aside, when normal activities of law courts, legislatures, etc., are suspended.

3. freedom or release from duty, business, or activity.

If I asked 100 people to define vacation I could get 100 different answers.
For some it would be a specific location, for others it would be a state of mind. Others might think it’s as simple as a method of change (not working). What’s your definition of vacation?

My challenge to you is to create a project based on your interpretation of a vacation, whether you travel for your vacation or take a staycation.
When I think vacation I think of being at the beach or laying by the pool.
I created this layout of our grandson Jacob enjoying some pool time.

All Mini Crop Challenges start the 3rd Friday of the month (today August 16th). You have until the end of next week on Saturday (August 24th) at midnight EST to complete your project.
You have the option of doing either 1 Layout or 2 Cards, 2 Tags or 2 ATC's.

Leave a comment here on my blog letting me know you participated in the challenge and I'll pick a random winner to receive a RAK from me.

It‘s Monday and time for a challenge on the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog.. This week the challenge is: “for the love of music and the arts”.
Do you Pintrest?
I will admit I am a limited Pintrester. I say limited because if I don’t set a 45 minute time limit and stick to it I could get lost there looking at all the amazing ideas.  I'll say it's a time sucker lol!

Every once in a while I see a project that I just know I have to make and/or try. My creation for this week is one of those projects that I loved.  Instead of a card I created a picture and put it in a frame.

One random drawn prize winner will receive a $10 voucher from Di’s Digis.

It's Sunday and I have a project featured on the Just Imagine Crafts Blog.
My daughter has 6 children, five boys and one girl. Four of the boys will be in school this year. They are known as “The Howard Boys” … need I say more lol! These sweet little boys love taking their teachers gifts. I’m always on the lookout for teacher gifts that are both easy to make and practical.

I cutout these pencil cases using my Cricut and the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. (I had to think a little outside the box and added more score lines to the cut.) I then used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #311 with no insert to punch the embellishment strips. Since I had multiple cases to make using the positive and the negative punched parts made this project both quick and easy. I added a few embellishments and I think these adorable cases should get the boys some extra points.

I’m so excited to be a Guest Designer at Just Imagine Crafts for the month of August! They will be featuring one of my projects every Sunday this month. I would love it if you would stop by their blog and leave a comment.

For my first project I did a layout of our granddaughter Gracelynn. She is just the happiest baby and always smiling. What a little sweetie!

I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch # 305 with no insert to make the border on the strips of patterned paper and adhered them to the blue cardstock background. I then applied the washi tape for a funky look. I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #901 with no insert to make the cluster of butterflies. The punched strips of patterned paper on the layout where so perfect that I didn’t think I needed to add a lot of other embellishments. Just adding a few word stickers and some paint spatters was enough to completed the project.

My design team assignment for the month of August at My Sketch World, was to choose one of my favorite sketches by Lucy and create a layout.

Let me tell you this was no easy task because Lucy has so many inspiring sketches to choose from.

I picked this sketch …

… changed it up a bit and created this layout.

Be sure to check out the My Sketch World blog and see what the other talented Design Team Members have done.
